Yussif Mubarik set to leave Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko defender, Mubarik Yussif is set to leave the club when his contract expire next month.

Getsportsgh.com understands Yussif Mubarik has some weeks left on his contract with the Porcupine Warriors and could leave for free should the club fail to renew his contract.

Yussif Mubarik has been phenomenal for Asante Kotoko since joining the club from AshantiGold SC three years ago.

The astute center-back joined Asante Kotoko in September 2020 on a three-year deal after an incredible stint with AshantiGold.

According to reports in the media, the highly-experienced defender has not been involved in the Asante Kotoko pre-season training with reason not yet known.

Yussif joined Asante Kotoko to bolster squad for the club’s 2020/21 CAF Champions League campaign.

He was one of the best performers in the Ghana Premier League during his three-year stint with AshantiGold.

Yussif Mubarik was an important figure in the Asante Kotoko squad that won the Ghana Premier League title two seasons ago under coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

He has previously also played for Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals.
