Two players fail trials at Asante Kotoko

The Asante Kotoko technical team have sent two players back to their clubs after failing trials.

The Porcupine Warriors begun pre-season training at Beposo in the Ashanti Region earlier this month with the two players training with the team for a deal.

And according to media reports, the two players namely Mohammed Abdul Rahman from Nsoatreman FC and Uche, a Cameroonian striker have been told to return to their various teams after failing to impress the technical handlers of the club led by Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Kotoko, Hearts excluded as CAF announces teams for African Football League understands the two players were told to return to their various clubs after Asante Kotoko pre-season game against Kumasi Cornerstone FC.

Another player who was training with Asante Kotoko, Baba Yahaya has signed a deal with the club after impressing the technical handlers.

Yahaya has reportedly signed a three-year deal with Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

He has joined the former Ghana Premier League champions on free transfer following the expiration of his contract with King Faisal Football Club after the 2022/23 league season.

The skillful midfielder has become the latest addition to the Asante Kotoko squad after Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabayin Amoah, Andrews Ntim Manu, Samuel Asamoah, Yussif Nurudeen Mohammed, Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara.

The Porcupine Warriors are also expected to sign WAFA SC midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena before the transfer window close on Friday, September 1, 2023.
