Asante Kotoko sign Kharis Academy striker – reports

Richmond Opoku reportedly joins Asante Kotoko

Ghanaian football powerhouse, Asante Kotoko have reportedly completed the acquisition of Kharis Academy talented forward Richmond Opoku.

According to multiple media reports, Opoku has signed a three-year deal for Asante Kotoko pending official announcement.

Another coach joining Asante Kotoko technical team

Richmond Opoku is said to have caught the attention of Asante Kotoko with his exceptional skills and prowess during the two clubs friendly encounter at the Dr KK Sarpong Sports Stadium in Beposo few days ago.

The youngster was a delight to watch in the game and even went ahead to score for Kharis Academy in the pre-season friendly that ended in one-all stalemate.

Opoku is expected to give depth to the Asante Kotoko attack that already boast of Georges Mfegue, Steven Mukwala Dese, Kalo Quattara, Isaac Oppong, Solomon Sarfo Taylor and host of others.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are also expected to announce the signing former King Faisal Football Club midfielder Baba Yahaya before the transfer window close on Friday, September 1, 2023.

The skillful midfielder has been training with Asante Kotoko for the past weeks with a move to the club very imminent.

Yahaya will join Asante Kotoko on free transfer following the expiration of his contract with King Faisal Football Club after the 2022/23 league season…
