And with few days to the commencement of the 2023/24 league season in Ghana, AshantiGold SC have secured a court injunction to prevent the forthcoming league season from starting.

Getsportsgh.com understands, AshantiGold SC are in court to challenge the GFA decision and to pray to the court to direct the association to reinstate them back to the Ghana Premier League.

The Obuasi-based club believe the GFA didn’t get the required number of votes needed to suspend AshantiGold SC from participating in all GFA -related activities during the 29th Ordinary Congress held in Kumasi.

According to AshantiGold SC, per the video that GFA released on its social media platforms announcing the suspension, the sixty-seven number of votes that the GFA claimed to have gotten during the 29th Ordinary Congress is a fallacy, and that the number of votes in the said video was not even up to twenty-five.

With this, AshantiGold SC believe the GFA has no locus to suspend the club since the association failed to get the required number of votes needed.

AshantiGold seek to halt the league until its concerns with the GFA are resolved.
