WAFA SC have reportedly given midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena the permission to undergo Asante Kotoko medical, has learnt.

This has been possible after an agreement between the two clubs for the transfer of the highly-talented midfielder.

We understand Dwamena will land in Kumasi to undergo Asante Kotoko medical on Tuesday before signing a three-year deal then the official announcement will follow.

The enterprising midfielder has been a long-standing transfer target for Asante Kotoko since the return of Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum as the head coach of the club.

Dwamena came to the limelight during the era of Narteh Ogum at WAFA hence why the astute Ghanaian football tactician is bent on reuniting with the midfielder at Asante Kotoko.

Should the deal materialized, Michael Kyei Dwamena will become the latest player from WAFA to join Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window after Yussif Nurudeen Mohammed.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are also expected to finalize the signing of skillful midfielder Baba Yahaya before the transfer window come to a close on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Yahaya has been training with Asante Kotoko for weeks ahead of a move to the club for the 2023/24 league season.

He will join the former Ghana Premier League champions on free transfer following the expiration of his contract with King Faisal Football Club after the 2022/23 league season.

Asante Kotoko have already signed seven players in the ongoing transfer window which include Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabayin Amoah, Andrews Ntim Manu, Samuel Asamoah, Yussif Nurudeen Mohammed, Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara.
