CAF CL: MP for Tarkwa congratulates Medeama after reaching final stage

Medeama SC will now face Horoya FC

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region, Mireku Duker has congratulated Medeama SC.

His commendation comes on the back of the Ghanaian champions qualification into the final stage of the prelims of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

Medeama SC on Sunday, August 27, 2023, exhibited a never say die spirit to beat Remo Stars of Nigeria 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 aggregate scoreline.

The game – a second leg tie of the first round preliminary round qualication of the CAF Champions League was played in Nigeria.

It followed Medeama’s 1-0 win over their Nigerian counterpart last week in Ghana but Remo Stars overturned the scoreline with same score.

Coach Evans Adotey’s side ensured they converted three of their kicks as against Remo Stars’ two successful kicks to sealed through to the final round qualication.

The lawmaker after the game said Medeama fought hard for the spot because fending off the challenge from Remo Stars elsewhere in Nigeria, is indicative of the hard work.

The MP who doubles as Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources also congratulated the team for putting up such commanding performance to advance to the next stage

Medeama SC having progress to the last hurdle will now face Horoya FC from Guinea.
