Asante Kotoko hit five past Cornerstone FC in pre-season friendly

Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, August 27, 2023, hit five past Kumasi Cornerstone FC in a pre-season friendly at Beposo.

The game which served as a preparatory ground for the team ahead of the new season was played at Beposo in the Ashanti Region where they are currently camping.

Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum’s men commanded a splendid performance to beat the lower tie side 5-1.

Kalo Ouattara, newly signee rounded up his performance on the day with a brace before Shadrach Addo added the third.

Tanko Mohammed also scored twice for the Ghana Premier League side to make it five.

Cornerstone FC thus fought back and reduce the deficit before the referee blew his whistle to end the game 5-1.

The game was the club’s second pre-season friendly ahead of the upcoming football season.

Kotoko had earlier in the morning recorded a 1-1 draw against Kharis S.A.

This means Coach Prosper Nartey’s lads have scored six goals in its first two pre-season games played so far.

The reds will be expecting to engage in more friendlies before they depart to Kumasi for the start of the new season in September.

Asante Kotoko will begin their 2023/24 season at home against Hearts of Lion.
