Ghana wins 2024 World Armwrestling Championship hosting bid

The 2024 World Armwrestling Championship will be hosted by Ghana.

This was announced at the World Armwrestling Federation Congress at Almaty in Kazakhstan.

Ghana and Egypt were the two African countries racing for the hosting right.

Ghana emerged the winner after the leadership of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation headed by its President Charles Osei Asibey, Godsen Kwame Asem and Husseini Akuetteh Addy made a successful defense at the congress.

Getsportsgh.com understands Ghana’s bid ws highly supported by the Youth and Sports Ministry, Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Investment Promotion Council, Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and other institutions.
