Former Asante Kotoko defender Maxwell Agyemang has joined Karela United in the ongoing transfer window.

Agyemang has signed a permanent deal for the Aiyinase-based club pending medical and official announcement.

The talented center-back has joined Karela United on free transfer after his release from Asante Kotoko weeks ago.

Despite being deemed surplus to requirements at Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Agyemang became a subject of transfer for several Ghanaian top-flight clubs including RTU, Dreams FC and Bofoakwa Tano.

RTU interested in Asante Kotoko defender

Agyemang has joined Karela United as replacement for Ebenezer Ocran who left the club for FC Samartex in Samreboi.

He played for Asante Kotoko for two seasons after signing a three-year deal from Wamanafo Mighty Royals in 2021.

Maxwell Agyemang has joined Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng, Charles Owusu and Joseph Amoako as list of players who have left Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.

He contributed to Asante Kotoko success in winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title under the tutelage of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
