Players expected to return for Black Stars game against CAR

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton is expected to announce squad for the Central African Republic game in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Ghana will play Central African Republic in the last game of the AFCON qualifiers on September 7, 2023.

The Black Stars will need at least a point in the game to secure qualification to the main tournament in Ivory Coast.

Chris Hughton is expected to name a 24-man squad for the game with four players who missed the last game against Madagascar expected to make return to the squad.

Below are the four players;

Baba Rahman

Abdul Baba Rahman

The left-back who has been active was left out of the Black Stars squad for Madagascar fixture due to injury but the defender is expected to make a return.

Baba has been impressive for PAOK in Greece and stand the chance of returning to the Black Stars for the Central African Republic cracker.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo

The attacker who netted Ghana’s only goal against Angola in the qualifiers at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi was excluded from the Black Stars squad against Madagascar due to injury.

Semenyo has made an injury return and netted his first goal of the season for AFC Bournemouth against Liverpool in week II of the English Premier League.

Inaki Williams

Inaki Williams

The Atletico Bilbao striker pulled out of the Black Stars squad against Madagascar due to a last minute injury.

Inaki has however made a return to the pitch and even scored his first goal against Osasuna in the Spanish Laliga last weekend.

Tariq Lamptey

Tariq Lamptey

Lamptey suffered a crucial injury in the latter part of last season and had to miss the Black Stars game against Madagascar.

The right-back has made a return to the pitch, playing for Brighton U-21 side.
