Fabio Gama eyes return to Ghana Premier League after stay in Bahrain

Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama dos Santos is bidding to make a shock return to the Ghana’s topflight league after ending his stay with Busaiteen Club in Bahrain.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder has been clubless following his contract expiration with Busaiteen Club, in the second Bahraini League.

Gama has since begun search for a new home amid reviving his footballing career.

According to our sources, Fabio Gamma’s choice of considering the Western African country is based on the love shown him and his family during his two-year spell with the reds.

Barring any eleventh-hour changes in the development, the skillful left-footed player will sign for a team in the Ghana Premier League before the transfer window closes.

Fabio Gama in 2020 joined Asante Kotoko giving way for a resurgence of his career and was regarded as one of the exciting footballers and play makers in the league during his two-year stay.

He made his debut after coming on in the 83rd minute for Godfred Asiamah in a 1–1 draw against Medeama on 27 December 2021.

However, on 11 January 2021, he made his full debut for the club after playing the full 90 minutes and providing an assist to Kwame Opoku’s second goal to give Kotoko a 2–0 victory over Liberty Professionals.

He played an integral role in the team’s squad that won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League but left in July 2022, after the expiration of his contract with Asante Kotoko.

Gama then move to Bahrain where he signed for Al Muharraq SC in the Bahraini Premier as a free agent on a one-year and later move to Busaiteen Club, in the second Bahraini League on a short term where he is currently out of contract.
