Asante Kotoko IMC holds discussion with five sponsors

The Asante Kotoko interim management committee have held discussions with five of its sponsors over contract extension, Getsportsgh.com can report.

The Ghanaian football powerhouse have held meetings with Zeepay, Betika, Hisense and two other brands to review and renew sponsorship agreements ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

Getsportsgh.com understands Asante Kotoko were represented by Kontomponiaferehene Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua and James Kwesi Appiah.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are close to securing a mouthwatering deal with mining firm Newmont Ghana as headline sponsor.

According to reports reaching the desk of Getsportsgh.com, talks between the two parties have reached the apex, pending official agreement.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is reported to be the one leading the discussions with Newmont Ghana for the sponsorship with financial details still not yet known.

This forms part of the Asante Kotoko revolutionary period following the departure of the immediate-past board members led by astute businessman Dr Kwame Kyei.
