Alhaji Grusah confirms Baba Yahaya’s move to Kotoko

The owner of Division One League outfit, King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah has confirmed that Kumasi Asante Kotoko have expressed interest in the capture of transfer hot-cake Baba Yahaya.

According to him, the former Ghana Premier League champions – Kotoko have opened negotiations with arguably one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market.

Alhaji Grusah, was however quick to called off Asante Kotoko in what he describes as lack of respect over the manner they want to acquire the signature of the midfielder.

Baba Yahaya who is out-of-contract at King Faisal was one of the club’s best performers in the just ended domestic top-flight football following his splendid display for his relegated side.

Kotoko, taking advantage of the player’s current contract situation have begun advance talk and currently training with the team for a possible deal before the transfer window closes.

This is because, Asante Kotoko trainer, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum is admirer of the talented midfielder and is looking to add him to their midfield ranks.

Alhaji Grusah has confirmed the player’s move to Kotoko and noted they are yet to give King Faisal an official written document to inquire about his availability.

“Baba Yahaya is training with Asante Kotoko as I speak. I have been told a certain agent that I don’t even know is leading the negotiations with Kotoko,” he told Asempa FM.

Speaking further on the matter he expressed worry in Kotoko, saying they should imply professionalism by using the right means to sign the player.

“They haven’t talked to me about signing him. Even if his contract has expired, they should at least give me a call to express their interest in the player. The player has the right to leave because his contract with us has run out, but they should respect me enough and give me a call.

Kotoko should talk to me if they want to sign the player. It would only be respectful for Asante Kotoko to talk to me,” a disappointed Alhaji Grusah expressed.

Baba Yahaya made over 30 appearances and scoring 3 goals for King Faisal in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season where they were relegated.
