Bibiani GoldStars beat lower tier side 7-1 in pre-season friendly

GoldStars ends its second phase pre-season

Bibiani GoldStars rounded up their second phase of its ongoing 2023/24 pre-season with a convincing club friendly win over lower tier side Sefwi Bekwai AFC at Sefwi Bekwai in the Western North Region.

The game played at the popular ‘SEBESS PARK’ saw the Ghana Premier League outfit thrashed their opponent by 7-1 to end their second phase of their pre-season on a good note.

A hattrick from Laar and a Mawuli’s brace as well as one goal each from Aso and Prince were enough for the Bibiani-based club to record a convincing win.

Sefwi Bekwai AFC however translated their effort into productivity as they managed to pull one back in the game played on Saturday August 19, 2023.

The win against Sefwi Bekwai AFC becomes Bibiani Gold Stars five straight win in its pre-season friendlies after beating Shining Stars 4 unanswered goals and another 4-2 win over Sefwiman Sporting Club.

They also recorded a 5-1 victory over Akasuman FC and Sefwi Bekwai Selected 1X respectively.

In all the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League fifth place team scored 25 goals and conceded 5 in the second phase of their pre-season.

They are expected to commence the last phase of their preseason soon as part of the preparation for the 2023/24 season slated for September.

Coach Michael Osei and his boys will begin their new season in the Ghana Premier League with an away fixture against Berekum Chelsea in Berekum.
