Asante Kotoko duo sustain injury

Ghanaian football powerhouse, Asante Kotoko might lose two players at the commencement of the 2023/24 league season in September. can exclusively report that Asante Kotoko duo of Isaac Oppong and Justice Blay have picked an injury at the club’s ongoing pre-season training and have returned to Kumasi for assessments.

Per reports reaching, the two players picked the injury during one of Asante Kotoko training sessions and the club will take a decision today on whether they will undergo surgery or not.

This comes as not too good a news for Asante Kotoko who need its entire squad members to stay fit for the forthcoming league season.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have bolster squad for the 2023/24 league season with five new additions so far in the ongoing transfer window.

The former Ghana Premier League champions have officially signed Susubiribi Sporting Club defender Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabayin Amoah from Venomous Vipers and midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu on three-year deal each.

The Porcupine Warriors have also announced the capturing of Berekum Chelsea duo of Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara after passing mandatory medicals.

And in order to make room for the new additions, Asante Kotoko have announced the departure of Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng and Charles Owusu.

Kotoko have also parted ways with young winger Joseph Amoako who was under suspension over an altercation with a club supporter on Facebook.

And as earlier reported, Asante Kotoko are close to terminating the contracts of defenders Maxwell Agyemang and Andrews Appau.
