King Faisal midfielder Baba Yahaya is close to completing a move to Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.

The 21-year old has become a subject of interest for Asante Kotoko who are augmenting squad for the 2023/24 league season.

According to reliable source, Baba Yahaya has opened transfer talks with Asante Kotoko and could join the club before long barring any last-minute change.

Yahaya was impressive for King Faisal last season despite the team’s failure to maintain it’s premiership status.

He scored three goals in 33 appearances in the 2022/23 top-flight and also put up a spirited performance to help his outfit reach the finals of the FA Cup.

Should the deal materialized, Baba Yahaya will join the Asante Kotoko midfield that boast of Richmond Lamptey, Justice Blay, Rashid Nortey, Eric Zeze and host of other talented players.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have already secured the signature of Susubiribi Sporting Club defender Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabayin Amoah from Venomous Vipers and midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu on three-year deal each.

The Porcupine Warriors have also announced the capturing of Berekum Chelsea duo of Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara after passing mandatory medicals.

And in order to make room for the new additions, the former Ghana Premier League champions have announced the departure of Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng and Charles Owusu.

Kotoko have also parted ways with young winger Joseph Amoako who was under suspension over an altercation with a club supporter on Facebook.

And as earlier reported, Asante Kotoko are close to terminating the contracts of defenders Maxwell Agyemang and Andrews Appau
