Ghana’s Amputee football team demolish Togo 9-1 in friendly

The Ghana National Amputee Football team has inked their status on the continent as they demolished their Togolese counterparts by 9-1 in an International friendly match in Lome, Togo.

Nicknamed, the Black Challenge, showcase a world class performance to put their Togolese counterparts to their deserving position.

The game played at the Stade Omni Sport – Lome on Friday, August 18, 2023, saw the African Champions humble the home side in a thrilling encounter with nine goals.

This means coach Stephen Richard Obeng’s men record their first win in its three International friendly matches outlined for the team.

They will engage Nigeria also as well as other matches before returning to Ghana to sum up their preparations.

The games are to propel the team ahead of the Amputee Football Tournament at the 2023 Africa Para Games to be hosted in Ghana from September 2 to September 12.

They have been drawn in group A of the Amputee Football Tournament alongside Tanzania, Cameroon and Zimbabwe.

Before departing Ghana for the international friendlies, the Black Challenge had opened a residential camping on Wednesday, August 16, at the Kotobabi Wembly Park in Accra.
