GFA secures $100,000 football project for colt clubs

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has approved the Ghana Football Association’s FIFA Forward application for $100,000 worth of footballs for the development of Colts football in country.

The approval by the world football governing body was made meaningful following an application presented by the GFA.

This project was announced earlier by President of the GFA Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the 29th Session of the GFA Congress in Kumasi.

He indicated that an “amount of $100,000 via FIFA Forward has been allocated to purchase footballs for Colts clubs as part of efforts to revamp the Colts Leagues across the country.”

This intervention, according to the FA is one of the many policies that have been approved by the GFA Executive Council to support the Regional Football Associations in the organization of the grassroots Leagues across the country.

“Part of the footballs will be Size 4 to be used by U13 and U15 Colts clubs with the rest being Size 5 for U17 Colts clubs,” the FA explained.

In a similar related development, the Ghana Football Association says it has also secured footballs for teams in the Women Premier League – which distributions will begin on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
