Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare sets sights on league title

Frederick Asare says Asante Kotoko will win the league title

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare says his outfit is poised to win the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors endured a torrid campaign last season, finishing 4th on the Ghana Premier League table and completing the season without a single trophy after a successful campaign in the previous season.

Asante Kotoko have made changes with the technical department with Prosper Narteh Ogum returning as the head coach after guiding the club to the league title two seasons ago.

And with the current situation of the club, Frederick Asare is optimistic Asante Kotoko will emerge champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

“With the one week that we’ve had, I think that if this work continues for a very long time, I think we will win the league,” Asare told the club in an interview.

“If we will win the league it will mostly depend on the supporters. Because last year there was a little bit of low attendance because of our performances.

“But this year I can assure them that with this new direction, we are going to win the league so they should come in their numbers. And also, I am promising them with the goalkeeping department we are promising them so many clean sheets this year,” he concluded.

Frederick Asare joined Asante Kotoko prior to the commencement of last season and made an instant impact.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko as part of preparations towards the 2023/24 league season, have commenced pre-season training at Beposo in the Ashanti Region
