Ghana amputee national team begin camping ahead of friendlies

The 'Black Challenge' opened residential camping in Accra

The Ghana Amputee National team, the Black Challenge has opened camping in Accra ahead of pending international friendly match with Togo, Nigeria and others in Europe.

The camping which begins on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, form part of the team’s preparation for the aforementioned assignments.

The friendlies, according to officials of the Ghana Amputee Football is aimed at achieving a host and win status in the Amputee Football Tournament during the Accra 2023 African Para Games from September 3 to September 12, 2023.

Head coach, Stephen Richard Obeng as such invited a 31-man squad who reported to the Wembly Park – Kotobabi  for a residential camping.

The Black Challenge, the reigning African Champions will know their opponents by close of the day as the draw for the Amputee Football will be held in Angola by the Confederation of African Amputee Football.

Ghana is in Pot 1 alongside Liberia and Angola based on rankings. Pot 2 also include Tanzania, Morocco and Kenya.

In Pot 3, eighth to twelfth place teams are as follows Egypt, 
Cameroon and 
Uganda whiles Pot 4 consist of Rwanda, Togo and Zimbabwe – that were not part of the 2021 event.
