Samuel Frimpong nears Legon Cities FC move

Former Asante Kotoko defender Samuel Frimpong is close to joining Legon Cities FC in the ongoing transfer window.

Getsportsgh.com can exclusively report that Frimpong has entered crunch talks with Legon Cities FC for a possible move.

Frimpong could sign for Legon Cities before next week with coach Paa Kwesi Fabin interested in the right-back as replacement for Michael Ampadu who left the club for Hearts of Oak.

Samuel Frimpong is joining Legon Cities FC on free transfer after leaving Medeama SC.

Frimpong was released by Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2020/2021 campaign where he made 23 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

He joined Medeama on a two-year deal as a straight replacement for Samuel Appiah who departed the club for Asante Kotoko.

Frimpong spent the 2019/2020 season on loan at Karela United FC having played 9 matches in the truncated league due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He joined Kotoko from second-tier side Bekwai Youth Football Academy in 2019.
