The experience right-back joins the Phobians as a free agent

Highly-rated Ghanaian defender, Michael Ampadu has officially completed his move to Accra Hearts of Oak, can confirmed.

The arrival of the 26-year-old right-back follows a successful medical on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, as reported by your authoritative and authentic portal

Ampadu joins the Ghana Premier League powerhouse on a free transfer following his departure from Legon Cities FC after the just-ended season of Ghana’s topflight football.

Having turn down offers from several clubs including Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Goldstars, addition of the versatile defender is a huge boost to the Accra-based club due to the departure of Robert Addo Sowah and Konadu Yiadom in the ongoing transfer window.

In an official announcement of the player’s capture, Hearts of Oak said “Fellow Phobians let’s welcome the latest addition to the family, Micheal Ampadu.”

Michael Ampadu’s capture makes him the latest addition to the club’s squad after the arrival of Asekem FC trio of Raphael Amponsah, Evans Adomako and Martin Karikari alongside Leventus Arthur and Kelvin Osei Asibey formerly of Techiman Eleven Wonders.

He is expected to join his colleagues for the team’s ongoing pre-season training at Pobiman in Accra.

Ampadu played for Liberty Professionals for four seasons from 2016 to 2020 before joining Legon Cities in 2020 prior to the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League season.

His exploits in the Ghana Premier league made him one of the best right-backs in the domestic league which earned him a call-up to the Ghana U23 national team in 2019 and forms part of coach Ibrahim Tanko’s squad for the year’s Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
