Ex-GFA boss endorses Kurt Okraku for second tenure

Nyaho-Tamakloe endorses Kurt Okraku for GFA President

Former GFA President, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has vehemently endorsed Kurt Okraku for a second term as the leader of the country’s football association.

Okraku is seeking for re-election as GFA President after the expiration of his term in October.

The Dreams FC bankroller became the GFA capo in October, 2019, taking over the mantle from Kwesi Nyantakyi whose administration came to an abrupt end following the Anas Aremeyaw Anas number 12 video which uncovered the rot in Ghana football.

Since declaring his intention to contest for the seat again in the forthcoming GFA elections, Mr Okraku has enjoyed huge backings with Nyaho-Tamakloe becoming the latest football administrator to endorse his second term bid.

According to Nyaho-Tamakloe, Okraku has shown in the last four years that when given another term in office, he will be able to transform Ghana football to the highest level.

“I want to endorse Kurt Okraku for the upcoming GFA elections and my reasons are very simple. We came out of very turbulent waters not long ago. The FA was in the hands of a group appointed by FIFA and Kurt has been able to stabilize things”, the highly-respected Hearts of Oak board member and statesman said.

“He [Okraku] has been able to come out with some projects and I believe if he’s given the opportunity, he will take the FA far”, he added.

Nyaho-Tamakloe has become the second person from the Hearts of Oak board to openly endorsed Kurt Okraku after Alhaji Akanbi who is also contesting for a slot on the GFA Executive Council on the ticket of the Ghanaian football powerhouse.

Even though Kurt Okraku is receiving the backings of some astute football administrators in the country, he is expected to face a stiffer competition from George Afriyie who lost the battle to Okraku four years ago.

This year’s GFA elections has been slated for September 27 in Tamale.
