Upper East RFA capo backs Kurt Okraku for second term as GFA President

Salifu Zida endorses Kurt Okraku

Upper East Regional Football Association chairman, Salifu Zida has declared support for Kurt Okraku for a second term as GFA President.

For Salifu Zida, Kurt Okraku has performed beyond expectations hence the need to continue as the overlord of the country’s football association for another four years.

In a video endorsing Okraku’s second term bid as the GFA President, Salifu Zida indicated that there has been growth in infrastructure under the administration of Okraku and believes when given another term in the high office, Ghana football will rise to the highest level.

“I want to declare my support for Kurt Okraku for continuity. He has done a lot for Ghana football and I don’t think we need to change for now”, Zida said in the video uploaded below.

Salifu Zida’s declaration comes after all the ten regional football association heads have unanimously thrown their weights behind Kurt Okraku for a second term in office as GFA President.

Kurt Okraku was initially elected the GFA President in October, 2019, taking over the mantle from Kwesi Nyantakyi whose administration came to an abrupt end after the Anas Aremeyaw Anas number 12 video which uncovered the rot in Ghana football.

And with his mandate ending in next month, Okraku is seeking for re-election as the leader of the country’s football industry.

On Friday, August 11 Kurt Okraku filed for nomination to contest for the GFA Presidential seat in the association’s forthcoming elections.

The Dreams FC bankroller will face a stiffer competition from former GFA veep, George Afriyie who lost the contest to Okraku four years ago.
