Kotoko could sign a sponsorship deal with Newmont Ghana

Ghanaian heavyweight, Asante Kotoko are close to securing a mouthwatering deal with Newmont Ghana, a leading mining firm in the country.

Getsportsgh.com understands the former Ghana Premier League champions have entered crunch talks with Newmont Ghana for a sponsorship deal.

Per reports reaching Getsportsgh.com, the owner of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is leading the discussions with the mining company to become official title sponsor of the club.

Details of the deal are unknown, but it is expected to be a lucrative deal with discussions at the very apex and agreement likely to be reached in the coming days.

This forms part of the Asante Kotoko revolutionary period following the departure of the immediate-past board members led by astute businessman Dr Kwame Kyei.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have commenced pre-season training at the Beposo Park in the Ashanti Region.

Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum and his charges have begun preparation for the 2023/24 league season.

The Porcupine Warriors have officially announced two new additions to the squad with eleven players set to leave the club before the new season commence.

The Ghana Premier league record holders have already signed defender Yahaya Dawuni from lower-tier side Susubiribi Sporting Club after undergoing a mandatory medical.

Dawuni signed a three-year deal for Asante Kotoko, becoming the club’s first official signing in the ongoing transfer window.

Asante Kotoko have also landed the acquisition of Venomous Vipers left-back Nanabayin Amoah on a three-year deal with more additions expected in the next coming days…
