42 pick forms to contest for GFA Exco slot; Check notable names

42 individuals have currently pick forms for GFA Exco slots

About forty-two (42) Ghanaian football administrators have picked nomination forms to contest for the GFA Executive Council.

Getsportsgh.com can exclusively reveal that as at the time of filing this report, forty-two individuals have picked nomination forms for the GFA Exco position.

Only twelve football administrators will be elected onto the GFA Exco in the forthcoming elections.

The GFA Exco will comprise of five representatives from the Premier League, three from the Division One, two from the regional football associations and a representative from the Women’s League.

A slot will automatically be reserved for the Ghana Football Association President.

According to reliable information, notable among the individuals who have picked nomination forms to contest for the GFA Exco include; Frederick Acheampong, Lord Zico, Samuel Anim Addo, Oduro Sarfo, Alexander Ababio of Bofoakwa Tano, Randy Abbey, Dr Tony Augbyn, and Divine Kyei Boadu of Nations FC.

The Ghana Football Association has announced that nomination forms for the GFA Exco slot is Gh¢15,000 with Friday, August 11, 2023 as deadline for submission of nomination.

In other news, Ghanaian football administrator and talent developer, Abdul Hay Yartey has declared intention to contest for the Central Region Football Association’s Chairmanship seat in the forthcoming elections.

The CEO of Kasoa-based Division Two side, Cheetah FC declared to Getsportsgh.com his intention to contest for the top seat in the region’s football parlance.

Getsportsgh.com understands the enterprising football administrator has picked nomination forms to challenge the incumbent Robert Otieku Duncan for the position.

Otieku Duncan is the owner and founder of Soccer Intellectuals, and has been occupying the position since October, 2019 that he was elected by popular acclamation.

Declaring his intention to contest for the Central Region Football Association’s Chairmanship seat in the upcoming elections to Getsportsgh.com, Abdul Hay Yartey said, “I will contest for the seat, yes I will contest.’

Abdul Hay Yartey is a celebrated Ghanaian football agent and administrator, and has managed footballers like Christian Atsu (late), Emmanuel Toku, Alhassan Wakaso and host of others.
