Prosper Nartey Ogum returns to Kotoko for a second spell

Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has stated that he will make Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC a formidable side for opponents both domestically and internationally in his first season.

According to the former West African Football Academy (WAFA) tactician, he is intended to build a strong team with his second coming at the Kumasi-based Ghana Premier League outfit.

Dr. Ogum who returns to the porcupine worriors gave the assurance during his official unveiling ceremony on Monday, August 7, 2023, held at the Baba Yara stadium’s conference hall.

Giving into account what is expected of him ahead of his second chapter at the club, the coach pointed out that preparing the side for competitiveness in his first season is all he looks for.

“My first year is to put together a very formidable team that can compete both domestically and internationally. However, you can’t be at Kotoko and not think of bringing success,” Prosper Nartey Ogum emphasisied.

The experience tactician also calls for patience and support from the entire family of the team to help complement his vision to coupled with that of the club.

He is expected to lead the GPL heavyweights begin their preseason training today, Tuesday, August 8, at Beposo, a suburb of the Ashanti Region.

Coach Ogum in his first spell at Kotoko led led the team to its first Ghana Premier League championship since the 2013/14.

Kotoko hopes to win the GPL championship again in the 2023/24 season after finishing in fourth place the previous year. Their quest will begin in the matchday one fixtures of the season against Hearts of Lion.
