Chairman ‘K5’ has become an ‘epitome of enemy’ for Kotoko progress – Kwadwo Asante

Kwadwo Asante, a former protocol officer of Kotoko NCC has lashed out at 'Chairman K5'

Former Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (NCC) chairman, Kwaku Amponsah, known as Chairman K-5 has become as epitome of enemy for the progress of the club, Kwadwo Asante has insinuated.

According to former protocol officer of the NCC, the persistence attitude of ‘Chairman K5’ surrounding the team is nothing to write home about which makes his actions and inactions worth serving his personnel interest.

Mr. Asante’s comment follows a ‘damning’ statement made by the former NCC chairman in an interview about the expected Board Members of the club before the start of the 2023/24 football season.

Asante Kotoko owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to name a new board to steer the affairs of the team after the mandate of immediate past CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah led administration expired.

In the meantime, the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom has constituted a four member Interim Management Committee (IMC) to steer the affairs of the team until a new board if formed.

Pending an official announcement by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Chairman K5 as popularly called in the football cycles has cautioned that he will ‘sabotage’ the yet-to-be-name board members if any of them found out to be part of persons who ‘were against Nana Yaw Amponsah’s past administration.’

He went ahead and heap praises on the former CEO indicating he left behind legacies that will forever be remembered by unborn generations most especially the team supporters.

Reacting to this, Kwadwo Asante called off Chairman K5 and described him an enemy of progress who seeks for the downfall of Asante Kotoko’, adding his track record of ‘pull him down and backbiting’ is unmatched.

He continued that the accused has resorted creating disunity and unhealthy atmosphere around the team whenever things ought to be better.

“If you take a critical look at what he [Chairman K5] said about Nana Yaw Amponsah, it gives a clear indication that some people only come closer to Kotoko for their selfish interest and not the progress of the team,” Kwadwo Asante insinuated in an interview on Kessben TV.

To justify his claim, the former NCC protocol officer outlines some precedents of Chairman K5 in Asante Kotoko making him what he termed as a “an epitome of enemy of progress.’

“He stood against Dr. K.K Sarpong administration, did same against Dr. Kwame Kyei, and let’s not also forget what he did to Opoku Nti led administration where he went to former president J.A Kufour, then patron of the club and demanded that he sack Mr. Nti because he was not fit for the job,” Kwadwo Asante revealed as alleged.

Mr. Asante on that score advised Chairman K5 for an attitudinal change and schooled that serving the great club with selfishness only breeds disunity which would hinder the team from chalking success.
