Narteh Ogum to be unveiled as Asante Kotoko new head coach today

Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko will unveil Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum as new head coach on Monday, August 7, 2023.

Ogum has been appointed Asante Kotoko head coach following the sacking of Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo in March this year.

The former WAFA SC tactician was directly appointed by Kotoko owner Otumfuo Osei Tutu II weeks ago.

His unveiling will be held at the conference room of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 11:00am alongside his two assistant coaches David Ocloo and John Eduafo.

Narteh Ogum has made a return to Asante Kotoko as the head coach after eleven months of leaving the club.

He first joined Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2021/22 league season from West African Football Academy (WAFA).

Ogum led Kotoko to the league that season before leaving the club after several issues with the management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.

In other news at Asante Kotoko, the Ghanaian football powerhouse have parted ways with eleven players ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

The players include; Abdul Rafiu Yakubu, Maxwell Agyemang, Andrews Appau, Mohammed Alhassan, Solomon Sarfo Taylor and Samuel Boateng.

Others are Ernest Osei Opoku, Evans Adomako, Clinton Opoku, Charles Owusu and Dickson Afoakwa.

This forms part of Asante Kotoko squad planning for the 2023/24 league season.

With the eleven players leaving Kotoko, the former Ghana Premier league champions are closing to completing the signing of Berekum Chelsea duo of Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara as Getsportsgh.com earlier broke the news.

Henry Ansu is a defender while Kalo Quattara is an attacker and will be undergoing Asante Kotoko medical next week before the official announcement.

The Porcupine Warriors have reached an agreement to sign former WAFA SC captain Michael Dwamena who is set for medical.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will commence pre-season for the 2023/24 league season at Beposo Park in the Ashanti Region on on August 8, 2023.
