Medeama have been beaten 0:1 in preseason friendly

Ghanaian champions, Medeama SC have been beaten 0:1 in a preseason friendly against ASKO de Kara from Togo at the iconic Glow Lamp Soccer Academy Park in Abreshia on Friday, August 4, 2023.

It was a game both clubs were using to fine-tune their squads for the 2023/24 season of the CAF Champions League.

The first half ended goalless but the visitors managed to score the only goal in the game during the second half with Medeama ‘s efforts to salvage the situation becoming fruitless.

Medeama have lost for the second time in the preseason after a 3:2 defeat to newly-promoted Ghana Premier league outfit Nations FC.

Medeama will face ASKO de Kara in a reverse fixture before hosting Nigerian side Remo Stars in the first leg of the CAF Champions Cup preliminary round.

Meanwhile, as part of preparation for the CAF Champions League campaign, Medeama have announced the acquisition of ace defender Richard Akrofi.

Just as Getsportsgh.com broke the news few days ago, Richard Akrofi has joined Medeama on a one-year deal.

The former Nsoatreman FC defender has joined the Mauve and Yellow until July 2024 after completing formalities.

Akrofi has put pen to paper after ending his stint at Nsoatreman FC.

Akrofi had previously featured for Hearts of Oak and King Faisal with Tarkwa becoming his latest home.
