Central Region FA chief endorses Kurt Okraku for second term as GFA President

Duncan wants Kurt Okraku to continue as GFA President

The Central Regional Football Association chairman, Robert Otieku Duncan has endorsed Kurt Okraku for a second term as GFA President.

Duncan is rooting for Kurt Okraku on the basis that the University of Liverpool alumni has been able to revive the image of Ghana football after the Anas Aremeyaw Anas number 12 expose video which brought football in the country to a standstill.

To Robert Duncan, Kurt Okraku can be properly assessed after a second term as the overlord of Ghana football.

“A lot of people have been asking me about the performance of Kurt [Okraku] and whether I would want him to continue as GFA President. All the time, I keep responding that I will speak about it at the appropriate time and I think now is the time. I will say that in my own personal view he [Kurt Okraku] needs to continue”, Robert Otieku Duncan said in a video available to

“When Anas video came, things were not functioning properly and I will say he has done well and we all have to come together as football people and and help him and his administration. If we give him another term , then we will be able to assess and scrutinize him properly, he has spent only two and half years at office and needs more time to stabilize our football”, he added.

Duncan however rated Kurt Okraku and his administration eighty-five percent, and entreated other aspirants to step aside to enable the incumbent to go unopposed in the forthcoming GFA elections.

“I will urge other aspirants to step aside and help him [Kurt Okraku] for another term. In his two and half years, I will score his administration eighty-five percent.”

Meanwhile, the elections committee of the Ghana Football Association has announced the roadmap and guidelines for the forthcoming elections with presidential aspirants to pay Gh¢50,000 for nomination forms.

Kurt Okraku will face keen competition from former GFA Vice President George Afriyie and former Western Regional Football Association chairman, Kojo Yankah who have all declared intentions to contest for the GFA Presidential seat in the 2023 elections.
