[VIDEO] Nana Addo supports Medeama Africa campaign with GHC1 million

Medeama paid a courtesy call on the president at the jubilee house.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has supported Ghanaian champions Medeama Sporting Club a whooping amount worth GHS1 million for their 2023/24 CAF Champions League journey.

The first gentlemen of the land also pledge to cushion the ‘Yellow and Mauve’ to assure that they raise the flag of Ghana high on the continent’s inter club competition.

Nana Akufo-Addo made this possible when Medeama SC called on him at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, where they presented the GPL title to the president and formally informed him of their participation in the competition.

The contingent consisted with the entire playing, management and board members of the team which was led by Member of Parliament of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency, Mireku Duker.

That notwithstanding, they ceased the occasion to appealed for support and seek for the president’s blessings and motivation whiles they seek to make meaningful impact in their debut in Africa’s top-tier inter-club competition.

President Akufo-Addo whiles pledging his support for the Western region-based premier league side congratulated them for the feat achieved.

Medeama, as winners of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title, they will represent the country in the CAF champions League as debutants.

They will begin their campaign on the weekend of August 18-20 against Remo Star of Nigeria in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League.

The first leg tie has been scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium before the second in Nigeria between August 25-28.
