Kojo Yankah wants the upcoming elections suspended

Former Western Regional Football Association chairman, Kojo Yankah has called for the suspension of the forthcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) elections.

According to him, the roadmap announced by the Elections Committee of the Ghana Football Association is incorrect hence the reason why the elections must be called off.

Speaking on Accra-based Onua FM, Kojo Yankah who is poised to contest for the GFA Presidential seat, stated emphatically that something terrible will happen should the GFA go ahead with plans to hold the elections.

“I’m not okay with the roadmap, Kurt is afraid of me and want to do everything possible to go unopposed. Everything about the elections is wrong because this is an association and not Ghanaian presidential elections. Why do we have to conduct the GFA Presidential elections before that of the RFAs”, he asked.

“The elections won’t be held as planned, I can assure you that and if they are to go ahead with their plans, something terrible will happen, I’m not just talking and it’s not about seeking for court injunction, I know what I am saying. The elections must be suspended”, Mr Kojo Yankah who has declared intention to contest for the GFA Presidential seat told Onua FM in an interview monitored by on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

He vowed that the incumbent GFA President, Kurt Okraku will never win the elections because he has underperformed since assuming office in October, 2019.

“Kurt [Okraku] has failed, he won’t win the election, he’s very laughable and I pity him. He want to go unopposed because he knows he will lose the seat”, he added.
