Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper’s trainer joins Berekum Chelsea

Eric Amponsah has completed his move to the Blues

Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper’s trainer, Eric Amponsah has joined Ghana Premier League outfit, Berekum Chelsea, the club announced.

His inclusion to the technical bench of the blues becomes one of the few signings for the team ahead of the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League.

Amponsah comes on board with his vast experience in Ghana’s topflight league having previously worked as goalkeeper’s trainer with several clubs.

The newly signed Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper’s trainer also had a stint with Ghanaian champions Medeama SC.

Having sign a three-year contract with Hearts of Oak in 2021, the club however parted ways with the highly rated trainer in September 2022 just after one and half year into his contract.

Eric Amponsah thus felt disappointed and betrayed over his sacking coupled with the club’s inability to fulfil their financial obligation at the time and proceeded to report the former African champions to the Ghana Football Association.

During his stay with Hearts of Oak, the Goaso-born trainer helped the club lift five major trophies in 18 months under the tutuleg of former coach Samuel Boadu.
