Daniel Amartey scores debut goal for Besiktas in UEFA Conference League

Amartey netted his fist goal for Besiktas on Thursday

Ghana defender, Daniel Amartey has hit the ground rounding as he helped Besiktas to an away win against KF Tirana in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

The ace defender was on target for Besiktas at the Air Albania Stadium to secure the Turkish giants an important 0:2 win.

Amartey started from the bench as he was introduced to the game in the 46th minute for Necip Uysal.

Eleven minutes after being on the pitch, Daniel Amartey headed home a perfect cross to break the deadlock before Vincent Aboubakar doubled the lead.

It was Amartey’s first outing for Besiktas since he joined the team in the summer transfer window few days ago.

Daniel Amartey joined Besiktas on three and half year deal in the ongoing summer transfer window as a free agent after leaving Leicester City.

The Ghanaian defender departed Leicester City after the team was relegated to the English championship last season.

Daniel Amartey joined Leicester City in 2016 from Danish top-flight side FC Copenhagen on a reported fee of up to £6million where he made an instant impact.

He played over hundred matches for Leicester City, scoring only two goals as a defender.

Amartey was heavily linked to Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan but the ace defender opted to join Besiktas.
