Bibiani Goldstars are eager to sign Ampadu in the ongoing transfer window

Bibiani Goldstars are leading the race to sign enterprising defender Michael Ampadu, understands.

Ampadu is currently unattached following his departure from Legon Cities FC after the just-ended season of the Ghana Premier League.

Bibiani Goldstars have entered crunch negotiations with Ampadu with the two parties yet to agree on personal terms.

As earlier reported, Michael Ampadu is also a target for Hearts of Oak who are strengthening squad for the 2023/24 league season.

The 26-year old joined Legon Cities FC three seasons ago and was a sensation throughout his stay at the club.

His contract with Legon Cities FC expired after the just-ended season of the Ghana Premier League.

Ampadu played for Liberty Professionals for four seasons from 2016 to 2020 before joining Legon Cities in 2020 in the club’s bid to bolster their squad ahead of the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League season.

Following his exploits in the Ghana Premier league, Michael Ampadu earned a call-up to the Ghana U23 national team in 2019.

He was invited to the Ghana U-23 team by coach Ibrahim Tanko and played for Ghana during the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
