Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak starts preseason today

Accra Hearts of Oak will resume their preseason training Tuesday, August 1, 2023, ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Getsportgh.com can reports that the team will begin the pre-season training at their Pobiman Sports Complex today. About thirty-one players are expected to report to the training regime.

Hearts of Oak are without a head coach and assistant following the exit of Slavko Matic and David Ocloo.

Meanwhile, their preseason will be under the supervision of newly appointed technical director of the club Rene Hiddink.

The Dutch trainer and brother of former Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink is charged to ensure the technical directives for the club and most importantly bring coordinating to their youth team, Auroras and Royal Oak – the women’s team.

Hearts of Oak, we understand will announce the appointment of a new coach in the coming weeks before the starts of the season in September.

They will begin their 2023/24 league campaign as guest to Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on the matchday one fixtures before returning home to play Nsoatreman FC at the Accra Sports stadium.

In the super clash against fierce rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak will host the first leg at the Accra Sports stadium in December 2023. The second leg will then take place in May 2024 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
