Mohammed Salisu to undergo Monaco medical today

He has agreed to a deal with Monaco after talks with Southampton

Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu will undergo medical on Monday, July 31, 2023 to complete his move to AS Monaco in the French ligue I.

The 24-year old has agreed to a deal with Monaco after talks with Southampton and could become the club’s latest signing after a successful medical as earlier reported by .

Salisu, who had an amazing campaign last season in the English Premier League despite Southampton suffering relegation, is joining AS Monaco on a reported £17milion deal.

He had one year left on contract, and was not included in the Southampton squad for their pre-season friendlies against AZ Alkmaar on Saturday or Bournemouth on last Tuesday.

Salisu made his last appearance for Southampton in March and was left out towards the end of the season due to issues with his commitment and application in working back from injury.

He joined Southampton in 2020 for £10.9m from Spanish side Real Valladolid.

Salisu made 80 appearances in all competitions for the Saints over the course of three seasons at St Mary’s Stadium.
