GFA’s finance committee have shown clearly appetite of the association – Gideon Fosu

A member of the Finance Committe of the Ghana Football Association, Gideon Mensah has asserted that under the visionary leadership of President Kurt Okraku, has done more to better a lot on sponsorship acquisition.

According to the football administrator, provided other factors or circumstances facing the current GFA administration, the finance committee has complemented its “appetite.”

This appetite, Mr. Fosu pointed out was to set up what it termed as “the cooporate structure” in football business to ensure they attract more investors.

“We had what you guys will call consultant cap to try and give us what we wanted. I think that we have been able to do a good job. The appetite for the current administration is to make sure that they set up the cooporate structure which is what we need in terms of football business – clearly, they’ve shown that for the finance committee,” he reiterated.

Gideon Fosu, according to him, the committee has streamlined some issues especially in the budget presentation being handled previously at the FA.

“For the first time when you go to congress you see a budget that talks about the next season. Before it was always a problem because you start spending before you bring it to congress for them to approve but we realize that is not a good practice.

So now, we would draw the budget for the current and the season after just so, once you start spending you know that have been approve already,” he emphasised.

He made this disclosure in an interview when he took turn to explained to Ghanaians how its committee in collaboration with the GFA has managed to get the association more than twenty sponsorship and partnership deals since 2019.
