Official: Hearts of Oak appoint Rene Hiddink as technical director

Hiddink has been named the head of the technical department

Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have appointed Dutch trainer Rene Hiddink as the club’s new technical director.

Hiddink has been named the head of the technical department of the Ghana Premier league powerhouse ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

Rene Hiddink is a renowned trainer and the brother of former Chelsea and Netherlands manager Guus Hiddink.

He has been tasked to ensure good technical directives for the club, and most importantly to bring coordination to not only the senior team but Auroras, Royal Oaks and the women’s team.

Rene Hiddink is also a retired footballer who worked as the assistant coach of the Maldives national football team.

The Dutch manager has also managed clubs in Rwanda, Madagascar, and the Maldives.

With the acquisition of Rene Hiddink completed, Hearts of Oak are also expected to announce a new substantive head coach for the upcoming league season.
