Kwame Opoku: Ex-Kotoko striker open to joining Nations FC

The deadly attacker is currently playing for Olympique Khouribga

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku has disclosed his readiness to join newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Nations FC.

The deadly attacker is currently playing for Olympique Khouribga in Morocco after signing for the club in February, 2023.

But Kwame Opoku is ready to play for Nations FC should the Abrankese-based club approach him with a good offer.

“Nations FC were after my services last season; they wanted me to join to help secure a promotion to the Premier League. I wouldn’t be surprised if they approach me again, having secured promotion to the top-tier league”, Opoku told Vision 1 FM in an interview.

He added;”Never say never. I don’t know what the future holds; it is football, and anything can happen. If they come with a good offer, I’ll play for them.”

Kwame Opoku began his career at Division One League side Nkoranza Warriors, before signing for Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal in 2020.

He left Kotoko in March, 2021 and signed a four and half years contract with USM Alger for €350,000 where he scored on his debut in a League Cup in the Algiers Derby to mark his 22nd birthday.

After joining USM Alger only in the second round of the season, Opoku made an immediate impact and ended his first season in Algeria with 5 goals and 4 assists in 17 matches in all competitions.

He joined Olympique Khouribga in Morocco on February 1, 2023 and has since been with the club.

Kwame Opoku debuted for the Ghana national team, Black Stars in a 1–1 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tie with South Africa on 25 March 2021.
