Ghanaian striker Sampson Eduku has denied reports of joining Iraqi giants Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on one-year deal.

There were reports that the former Tamale City FC goal poacher has completed a move to the Iraqi powerhouse after a scintillating form in the Ghana Premier League last season.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio, Sampson Eduku has rebuffed the reportage, stressing that he has not signed for any club as being speculated in the local media.

“I have not joined any team, I haven’t signed for any club as speculated in the media. I don’t know where those reports are coming from”, Eduku said in the interview monitored by on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

He however revealed that he has had talks with some domestic clubs for a possible move after stint with Tamale City FC in the just-ended season of the Ghana Premier League.

“I have had talks with only six Ghanaian clubs. I have talked to Hearts of Oak, Kotoko, Nations FC, Dreams FC, Medeama and Goldstars”, he added.

Sampson Eduku signed for Tamale City at the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign after leaving Guinean side CI Kamsar, where he spent one season.

The 27-year old bagged 14 goals for Tamale City FC last season, made 3 assists in 27 matches, winning 4 most valuable player awards.

Eduku has vast experience in the game, having also played for FC Samartex 1996, Sekondi Hasaacas, Elmina Sharks FC, and Karela United FC.
