Former Hearts of Oak gaffer, Samuel Boadu has been spotted conducting training sessions with Cornerstone FC despite denying news of his appointment as head coach.

Cornerstone FC on Monday announced the appointment of Boadu as stop-gap coach, stating that he could leave the club whenever a bigger opportunity comes his way.

“We are delighted to announce Mr. Samuel Boadu as a stop-gap coach. We are certain that Boadu’s experience and standard of excellence as a tactician will impact Cornerstone Football Club positively as we work assiduously to revive our old glory”

“Per the agreement, the club will not hesitate to let him leave whenever a bigger opportunity comes his way” – the tweet confirms.

But Samuel Boadu quickly rebuffed the announcement, indicating that he has never held talks with anyone at Cornerstone not to talk of accepting to lead the division two outfit a head coach.

“I haven’t signed for Cornerstone, and I haven’t even held conversations with anyone at the team. I haven’t even made up my mind on joining them. How can I live in Accra and manage in Kumasi?” Boadu clarified to Kesseben FM.

However, the former Medeama SC tactician has been spotted at Cornerstone FC training ground on Tuesday leading the team’s training sessions.

Cornerstone FC is the oldest existing club in Ashanti Kingdom, founded in 1931.

The club went to relegation after 1994-95 Ghana Premier League season and has since not qualified to the Ghana Premier League again.

Cornerstone is a two-time Fa Cup champions, winners of Ghana Telecom Gala in 1979 and champions of 1987 WAFU Cup.

Cornerstone will be competing in the Regional Division Two League in the Ashanti Region next season.
