Mohammed Kudus misses Ajax training amid Chelsea interest

According to Ajax FC statement, Kudus couldn't train with the team for medical reasons

Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus was absent at Ajax FC training on Tuesday with Chelsea reportedly close to reaching a personal agreement with him.

According to Ajax FC statement, Kudus couldn’t train with the team for medical reasons and currently receiving treatment for a minor injury.

“Kudus is absent from training for medical reasons. He stayed indoors and received treatment for a minor injury”, the club’s statement reads.

The 22-year old is close to joining Chelsea in the Premier League with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly interested in the versatile midfielder as replacement for Kai Havertz who left the club for Arsenal.

The camp of the former FC Nordsjaelland playmaker have reportedly entered crunch negotiations with Chelsea despite reports also linking him to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.

It is believed that Chelsea are inch closer to reaching a personal agreement with Mohammed Kudus before a formal request to Ajax FC for his service.

Kudus was in a scintillating form for Ajax FC last season despite the team’s failure to win the Dutch league, and was heavily linked to Manchester United, Newcastle United and Everton.

He netted 18 goals with seven assists in 42 games across all competitions for Ajax FC last season.
