Many believe Kwesi Appiah is on the IMC as the technical director of the club but the former Kotoko skipper has explained his role on the IMC.

According to Kwesi Appiah, he has not been appointed as the Kotoko technical director but his job is to give technical direction to the club until the administration of the club is restructured.

“Some of us played Kotoko for long, Kotoko is part of us and the most important thing is, it’s a great honor even though we have served Kotoko before. If Nana (Otumfuo) appoint you to lead Kotoko, I think it’s a great honor and I believe the task to rebuild Kotoko is not on me alone but every Kotoko supporter as well”, Kwesi Appiah said in an interview available to on YouTube.

He added; “My job is about giving technical direction and we all have to work together and determine who is best to coach and play for Kotoko, so we will sit down as IMC and deliberate on the way forward. I won’t say I am the technical director for Kotoko because a board has not been appointed, a board will appoint a technical director but my job is to give a technical direction.”

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have appointed Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum as new head coach ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

Narteh Ogum has made a return to Asante Kotoko as the head coach after eleven months of leaving the club.

He first joined Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2021/22 league season from West African Football Academy (WAFA).

Ogum led Kotoko to the league trophy that season before leaving the club after several issues with the immediate-past management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.
