Bibiani Gold Stars to decide future of Abednago Tetteh

The future of striker Abednego Tetteh at Bibiani Gold Stars will be determined by the management of the club by this week, officials have confirmed.

Chief Executive Officer, John Adu Kwesi, said once the future of the current Ghana Premier League goal king holder is decided it would be publicised to the club supporters.

The ex-Accra Hearts of Oak flop who moved to Kumasi-based King Faisal two seasons ago to re-launch his career joins Gold Stars on a short-term contract during the 2022/23 football season.

At the Bibiani-based outfit, Abednego Tetteh helped them finish fifth on the betpawa Ghana Premier League table scoring 18 goals to his name.

The goals propelled him to emerge as the top scorer of the topflight league and also became the club’s top scorer.

Owning to the expiration of the short spell of Abednego his future remains uncertain at the premier league club.

Speaking on the future of the striker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club John Adu Kwesi said the services of the player were only hired for a short term but it is up to the club to decide whether he stays or not.

“You see, Abednego was engaged on a short term so therefore we as a club [management and supporters] may be interested that he stays or not….

“So, we look forward and I believe that before the close of next week, we will announce the team that will be part of our club for the 2023/24 season,” he told Meshach Nkrumah on Angel FM.

Probed whether other clubs are vying to capture the signature of the former Bechem United goal poacher, he responded yes in an affirmative manner.

“Yes, I just heard of one offer from South Africa, but I don’t see them to be serious,” added Mr. Adu Kwesi, CEO of Bibiani Gold Stars.

He implored the team supporters to exercise restraint pending management decision by next week as they look forward to taking a decision for the best interest of the club.
