Joseph Paintsil honors by Genk after impressive season

Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil on Saturday July 22, 2023, received an honour from his mother club KRC Genk for his impressive form during the 2022/23 Belgium Pro League.

The speedster received was one of the three players which the club decided to show them appreciation following their outstanding performance at the just ended season.

Paintsil during the season under review scored18 goals and 14 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye, Patrik Hrosovsky together with Joseph Paintsil received an award plaque at a short ceremony at the Cegeka Arena before the club’s Saturday pre-season friendly against English Premier League side Burnley.

Taking to social media after the recognition, Joseph Paintsil was thankful for the honor done him and dedicated the award to the entire family of KRC Genk, most especially the fans.

“Humbled and honored to receive this award as one of the top three performers last season. I dedicate this to the rest of my teammates & coaching staff for always having my back.

Thanks to the fans as well for pushing me to be the best I can be. It felt good to see you today,” the player expressed in a post via his official Twitter account.

Joseph Paintsil before joining Genk had played for Ghanaian side Tema Youth and top Hungarian club Ferencvarosi as well as Turkish side Ankaragucu as a loan player from the Belgium club.
