I’m ready for Besiktas challenge – Daniel Amartey

Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey has vowed to give his all for his new club Besiktas in the Turkish SuperLiga slated for August 13, 2023.

According to the Ghanaian International, he is desired and ready for the new challenge at the Turkish giants.

He made this known via his official Twitter account following the imminent announcement of his move to the club.

The 28-year-old joined Besiktas in the Turkish top-flight league on a two-year deal subject to renewal for another year. He will wear the jersey number 12 at the club.

Amartey left former English Premier League champions Leicester City on a free transfer after the team was relegated to the English championship last season.

After being heavily linked with several top European clubs including Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, he opted to join Besiktas.

In a post after the club announced his signing, Daniel Amartey took to his Twitter page and expressed his excitement and readiness for the club.

“A new chapter begins with Besiktas. Excited and Ready to give it my ALL,” he opined in the post.

Daniel Amartey, a former player of Danish side FC Copenhagen moved to the English Premier League in 2016 after his superlative performance caught the attention of Leicester City.

He made his debut for the club on 27 February 2016, in a 1–0 home league win over Norwich City.

In his first season with the Foxes, he featured five times as they won the Premier League title. He also added to his trophy cabinet an FA Cup title in 2020 including a Community Shield title in 2021.

Before then he had played for Swedish side DjurgÄrdens IF between 2013-14 after leaving Ghanaian lower-tie side Inter Allies at the age of 16.
