Narteh Ogum is new Kotoko head coach – Otumfuo confirms

The Asante Kotoko owner officially made the announcement

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has announced Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum as new head coach of Asante Kotoko.

The Asante Kotoko owner officially made the announcement when he visited the club’s training facility at Adako Jachie on Saturday, July 21, 2023.

The King entreated the club’s supporters leadership to rally behind their newly appointed head coach.

He also tasked Ogum rebuild a formidable team that can compete in Africa and not solely winning the Ghana Premier league title.

Otumfuo also promised to restructure the club’s training facility at Adako Jachie by handing over the architectural design of the project to his chief staff.

Narteh Ogum has made a return to Asante Kotoko as the head coach after eleven months of leaving the club.

He first joined Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2021/22 league season from West African Football Academy (WAFA).

Ogum led Kotoko to the league that season before leaving the club after several issues with the management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.

Meanwhile, former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is expected to lead Kotoko as the technical director.
