Fosu Royal Ladies, KUSA qualifies for Women’s Premier League football

Fosu Royal Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy have secured qualification for next season’s Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

The Brong Ahafo Regional champions, Fosu Royal Ladies, secured their qualification berth after a 3-2 win over Savannah Ladies to qualify for the women’s topflight league.

Patricia Adjei opened the scoring for the Techiman-based club in the 29th minute but that was short-lived as Sakina Hanan equalised for FC Savannah through a free kick 4 minutes later.

Back from recess, Patricia Adjei scored her second of the day to restore Fosu Royal Ladies’ lead in the 62nd minute.

Savannah Ladies then equalised in the 91st minute courtesy of a sensational volley however two minutes later Eunice Pokuaa shot into the top corner to secure all three points for Fosu Royal Ladies.

The results put Fosu Royal Ladies on top of the Northern Zone table with 12 points.

Kumasi Sports Academy on the other hand thrashed Real Crusaders 6:2 to move second on the table and also secure a ticket to next season’s Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Vera Yeboah gave Real Crusaders the lead in the 13th minute but the Kumasi-based club responded three minutes later through Pearl Asantewaa to draw them level.

A dominant display from Kumasi Sports Academy saw Gertrude Amoafo hit a brace whilst Afia Nyarko, Bernice Aboagyewaa, and Constance Korsah scored a goal each to complete the demolition exercise.

Rafiatu Tijani, later on scored to reduce the deficit for Real Crusaders as the game ended 6:2 in favor of Kumasi Sports Academy, putting them level on points with Fosu Royal Ladies with 12 points.
